Have you checked your Cydia store this morning? If you haven’t, now
is the time. Within the usual changes, today we have a much anticipated
one; “Hands-Free Control.”
We
all know the main Catch-22 when it comes to Siri. She is our own
personal assistant, whom eliminates the need to actually touch your
phone. So what’s the problem?
Until now, Siri was unable to be started by voice. Our hands-free
voice assistant had to be started by holding the home button. Obviously
this is a bit of s problem if you are wanting a truly hands-free device.
A
new Jailbreak tweak called “Hands-Free Control” is now available to
jailbreakers in Cydia. This tweak allows you to simply say “Siri” at
anytime in order to activate her. That’s right. Simply call for your
personal assistant and she obliges. Now that’s how it should work.
This
is a much anticipated tweak and it will even help drivers in states
such as California avoid breaking the law by touching their phone to
activate Siri (and sadly, yes, this really is against the law). All in
all, this seems like an excellent and timely tweak.
